Thursday Interview -- Missing :-(

Thursday Interview -- Missing :-(

Previous Entry Share Next Entry
I am sad to say that for the second week in a row we've had a bit of a delay getting our Thursday interview handed in on time. Never fear though -- there are a ton of you in the community, so there are plenty of interviews to be had!

Way back the first week when I posted the interview questions, I asked anyone who wasn't eligible to win a prize to post their answers. Now as we near the end of the community, I would like to invite everyone to post their answers to the interview questions in comments. Some of you have been getting to know one another in comments, so I'd like to have one more way of facilitating this.

For reference, here are the five interview questions!

1. What was your first video game system and game?
2. What do you think defines you as a gamer?
3. What was the video game and system that really defined how you play games today?
4. Who is your favorite video game character and why?
5. Describe your dream entertainment center. What type of TV and chairs would it have? What video game systems? Be creative!
  • 1. What was your first video game system and game?

my first gaming system was the atari, though my dad had it before i was born and he couldn't find the games. the first game i had that played on a gaming system was a hockey game for the nintendo. i played it on an old black and white tv that was no bigger than a normal-size computer monitor.

    2. What do you think defines you as a gamer?

challenges. i can play any game whether it's an rpg or puzzle game or what have you, but if it doesn't challenge me, i get bored. as long as there is one little speck of challenge, i will work on it until i beat it. then i'll try again a different way. this is why portal was ideal for me.

    3. What was the video game and system that really defined how you play games today?

honestly, elder scrolls: oblivion on the xbox 360. i wasn't really a "gamer" until i met my boyfriend and he introduced me to the 360. the graphics, gameplay, storylines - all were so detailed and in-depth comparted to my nintendo. the game challenged me, and again, that's what i love about games. and it still own it.

    4. Who is your favorite video game character and why?

though i do love oblivion, my favorite game character would have to be commander shepard from mass effect. i know that he/she can be altered to fit any person's gaming style, but that's the beauty of the character. no matter how i figure the background, the gameplay is still awesome. plus, since i normally play female characters (it's a habit since i am female) she is pretty kick ass.

    5. Describe your dream entertainment center. What type of TV and chairs would it have? What video game systems? Be creative!

it would be a bedroom-size room, shades on the window(s) so it's constantly dark. maybe a lamp or two for ambiance, though not very bright. i'd keep my tv (a huge hd that my boyfriend bought) or get a nice wall-mounted flat screen. assemble all of my systems and games on shelves below it (alphabetically because i'm ocd). i would have comfy over-stuffed chairs and couches, a minifridge stocked with iced tea, and a microwave so i could pop some popcorn. i'd have some sort of router or something so i could plug in all of my systems at once and some awesome surround-sound speakers.
